As we embarked on our adventure in Busan, South Korea, we couldn't wait to witness one of the city's most iconic landmarks: the Gwangan Bridge.
This stunning structure, often referred to as the "Diamond Bridge" due to its shimmering nighttime lights, promised a blend of architectural marvel and captivating cityscape.
Hey Lykkers! Here’s a glimpse into our unforgettable experience at Gwangan Bridge and its surrounding attractions.

Gwangan Bridge: A Sight to Remember

Gwangan Bridge stretches gracefully across the water, linking the district of Suyeong to the city of Haeundae. Spanning 7.4 kilometers, it’s not just a bridge but a testament to modern engineering.
We were spellbound as we walked along Gwangalli Beach, taking in the panoramic views of this colossal structure. By day, the bridge offers a striking contrast against the blue sea, but it’s at night when it truly dazzles. The bridge is adorned with LED lights that change colors, creating a mesmerizing spectacle visible from miles around.

Nearby Attractions: A Day Full of Wonders

After soaking in the beauty of Gwangan Bridge, we explored some nearby attractions that made our visit even more memorable.
Gwangalli Beach: Just a stone's throw from the bridge, Gwangalli Beach is a vibrant spot where locals and tourists alike gather. With clean sands and a lively atmosphere, it’s perfect for a relaxing stroll or a dip in the sea. The beach is open year-round, and entry is free, though amenities like chairs and umbrellas are available for rent at around 5,000 KRW ($4 USD).
The Busan Aquarium: Located near Gwangalli Beach, the Busan Aquarium is a fantastic family-friendly attraction. We marveled at the diverse marine life and walked through the impressive underwater tunnel. Tickets are priced at 30,000 KRW ($22 USD) for adults and 20,000 KRW ($15 USD) for children. The aquarium is open from 10 AM to 7 PM, with extended hours on weekends and holidays.
Haeundae Beach: A short drive from Gwangan Bridge, Haeundae Beach is one of Busan’s most famous coastal stretches. Known for its beautiful sandy shores and clear waters, it’s ideal for sunbathing and beach sports. The beach is open year-round and is free to enter.

Local Delights: Tasting Busan’s Best

No trip to Busan is complete without indulging in the local cuisine, and the area around Gwangan Bridge offers a plethora of delectable options.
Milmyeon (Wheat Noodles): We tried this local specialty at a nearby eatery, and it was a refreshing treat. Served cold with a savory broth, these noodles are perfect after a day of sightseeing. A bowl costs around 6,000 KRW ($4.50 USD).
Grilled Eel: For a unique taste experience, we sampled grilled eel at a local restaurant. The eel was tender and flavorful, served with a variety of side dishes. The meal cost about 15,000 KRW ($11 USD) per serving.
Pajeon (Green Onion Pancake): At a cozy, family-run restaurant near the bridge, we enjoyed pajeon. This savory pancake, crispy on the outside and soft inside, was a delightful accompaniment to our meal. Prices for pajeon start at around 8,000 KRW ($6 USD).
